EMD SD40-2 Prototype
SD40-2 is a second-generation diesel locomotive produced by Electro-Motive Division (EMD) of General Motors. It was immensely popular, with over 3,000 units sold in the U.S. and more than 700 in Canada. The SD40-2 had a long production run, resulting in various versions. Early units represent a pre-1990 appearance, while Mid Production units depict later runs of locomotives.
