Trasnponders are Digitrax proprietary devices that can report the uniwue address and relative movement of locomotives or suitably equipped cars.
This ftable shows how transponders are inventoried and reported from my railroad.
Transponders
ID - Numeric ID for this Transponder; may be assigned from number range assigned to geographic resions
TP Controller ID - Transponder controller for this transponder
Machine ID - Transponder Machine for this transponder; RXn
State/Last ID - Leaving or Entering
Last RS ID - Rolling Stock ID of last transponding device seen by this transponder
Last Decoder Address - last decoder address seen by this transponder
TP BDL ID# - BDL16x D number hosting this transponder
Unit - A,B,C,D,E,F,G,or H transponder slot on BDL16x
Transponder Location - information on location of the transponder
Log
Seq # - one up log number
Rolling Stock ID - Inventory ID for Rolling Stock with transponder seen
Entering/Leaving - was it entering or leaving the transponder zone
Decoder - address of the reporting decoder
Short/Long - is address a short or is ot a long address
Time in ms - timestamp when the transponder event was seen
Place(s) Reported
Section # - Track # in the transponder zone
Block ID - BOD in the transponder zone
Place Note - optional location information
Toggle Delete Button - allow/disallow deleting of Transponder records

Make JMRI Reporter XML - declare Transponders to JMRI
Make Jython Reset Script - tbd
JMRI Transponder Listeners - create script to listen to your transponders and report feedback messages via queue in JMRI
Find Transponding Loco - look up most recent transpoder location for the selected loco or other thransponder equipped rolling stock
Capture transponder feedback messages from the layout for use by other MRRM processes
