Routes are a sequence of adjacent turnouts that are configured to act in unison. Commanding a route causes each of the turnouts in the route to be closed or thrown as specified. The number of turnouts per route is arbitrary. Some command station and accessory controllers limit the number of turnouts that can be commanded in a single route.
This figure shows an example of a few routes. In this example there are five turnouts comprising route 1 and they are shown in the lower panel.
ID / Address - number for this route which is also a address used to select and execute the turnout commands indicated
Direction - sequence of turnout command flow; East to West or West to East
Route Name - short name for the route
Route Turnouts:
Turnout ID - Identifier for this turnout
Thrown/Closed - aspect for this turnout
Activate Route Selected - implement route selected by commanding specificed turnouts and aspects in sequence. Include delay, specified in mrrm.ini file, between commands.
